As the titel axplains, im looking for my own key.
Here's why i am looking for it:

On a sunny schiny autum afternoon i got a phonecall:
Person: Heey vinny is it possible i could lend your vista dvd.
Me: Sure, come on over ill get it for ja, but ill have to get it back when i call you.
Person: No worries im only going to install vista and ill bring it right back.
Me: Ok ill see you in a couple of minutes, good drive.
Person: Later man, thanks

Two days later i called him up, no reply, i tekst him, no reply, now its been 4 months since if spoken to him, and my vista needs a new install, so im downloading the vista of of the internet.
But now my problem is, i dont have my Windows Vista Original Serial Key, is there anyway any tool, any trick of just a windows command/way to get it back on my screen so i can wright it down, and do a fresh new install.
Hope somebody has a solution for me, else i might have to call up M$ and hope for the best.

Greets Vincent, and thanks for reading:D

Not sure about Vista, but in 7 you just go to your start menu, right click on computer and then click properties. Scroll to the bottom and it will have a section called windows activation. Your key should be there. If its not, I'm sure there are programs out there that will tell you the key.

Another qeustion regarding the same subject.
When/If i download another Vista from a torrent, what is the succes rate of the key i got.
Because if read somewhere the versions might not match, etc etc.
Im just running the ordinry Windows Vista Home Basic, Sp1.
I qeuss i should download the home basic, sp1 then, inorder for the key to work properly.

Thanks again.
